Abstract

Welded-tapered (WT) frame typologies (Figure 1) are a distinctive subset of single- and multi-span industrial buildings used when the shapes of members are tightly optimized to the loads carried by the structure. Welded-tapered members may be specially tailored for an application, or pre-designed in producer catalogues [1].
