Dielectric resonator antenna with microstrip-waveguide transition in LTCC

Abstract

A novel waveguide-fed rectangular dielectric resonator antenna in low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) technology has been designed and fabricated at 24 GHz. To connect the antenna to the rest of the circuit a staircase microstrip to waveguide transition is introduced. Simulated and experimental results for input reflection coefficient are in excellent agreement.
