Abstract
The authors present some results from the measurements of a digital frequency-shift keying detector implemented with TMS32010 digital signal processors. They estimate the acceptable limits of some nonidealities. From the data measured with a 9600 b/s detector, it is found that at Pe = 10-2, a 1-dB increase in Eb/N0 can compensate for 20% of the timing error, 1.3 kHz of the carrier frequency offset, a 1.8 kHz decrease in the deviation, or the baseband signal bandwidth limitation down to 15.5 kHz.
