Abstract

Report presents measurement results for driving resistance values for typical Finnish heavy vehicle combinations. Five different heavy-duty vehicle combinations were measured using a coast-down test to define the total resistive force acting on the vehicle and to estimate the aerodynamic resistance force and tire rolling resistance force. Two vehicle combinations had bulk bodies, one tipper cassette body, and one timber carrying body. Rolling resistance values of typical trailer tires were measured on a chassis dynamometer to define rolling resistance values as a function of driving speed, tire load and tire temperature.
