Abstract
Eco-efficiency emphasizes two dimensions of sustainable development - economy and environment - and pays less attention to social and cultural issues. Its merit is the focus to dematerialization of the economic growth. The World Business Council for Sustainable Developed which formulated the concept of eco-efficiency has prepared a tool box for identification and understanding of various methods and their applicability. This practical and educational material is a good background for searching of appropriate methods in various phases of product and process development in the construction sector, too.
