    Abstract

This workbook introduces RESEC - economic evaluation method and provides information on how you can benefit of RESEC when assessing measures to reduce risks in urban areas and to protect critical infrastructures.RESEC supports you in making transparent, systematic and reliable decisions and in creating a common understanding of the measure alternatives and their possible consequences before the decision takes place. The main target group is authorities on different levels of decision-making. The workbook is not a comprehensive guidebook to implement an economic evaluation, but a general information package to highlight the decision-making processes and evaluation methods that can be used for enhancing security, resilience and sustainability of urban infrastructure.
