Abstract
Aluminium bronzes are copper base alloys containing aluminium up to 12% with additions of nickel, iron and manganese. The effects of tempering heat treatments on corrosion and mechanical properties of two aluminium bronzes have been studied. The best corrosion properties, i. e. resistance to dealloying corrosion, were obtained after tempering at 600-700°C. Mechanical properties were good after tempering at these temperatures.
