Abstract

Risk assessment requires the application of a variety of consequence analysis models in order to estimate the physical effects of accidental releases. The type of model required varies, and depends upon the material under consideration and the circumstances of release. This paper considers individual risk estimation of toxic materials passing through the ventilation system of a building. The effect and significance of chemical reactions within the ventilation system are also considered. Example cases are given and the sensitivity of the results is discussed.
