Abstract
The needs and preferences of the population should form
thick background for the technological development of
smart environment as well as to the development of the
new practises that are possible due the new technologies
and services. At VTT different methods (eg scenarios) are
used to identify user needs for various contexts and
potential problems related to the usability, utility and
ethics of the service or a product. Besides
scenario-based design we have also used i deation
meetings and happenings for the innovation of new
services and applications. This talk describes our
experiences of co-design practises with elderly
participants.
