    Abstract

Motivated by the global responsibility for ecologic sustainability as well as the economic pressure introduced by the increasing competition for energy resources, it has become a high-priority target to optimize the energy efficiency of manufacturing systems. Energy consumption figures and energy cost information are currently often embedded in overhead or facilities accounts. The first step towards reduction of energy consumption is to track it along operational processes. Improvements are enabled, if energy consumption data and other context are shown with sufficient amount of details to production manager or operators.
