Abstract

Piloting of new practices and taking them into succesful large-scale use within an organisation are chal-lenging tasks in software process improvement programs.This paper describes an approach to piloting Software Congiguration Management (SCM) practices within an industrial organisation.In this case, the SCM improvement program based on Pr2imer, Practical Process Improvement for Embedded Real-time Software, developed by VTT Electronics.The aim of this paper is to describe the experiences from the pilot operation and commissioning phase of Pr2imer, including collection of SCM metrics, planning and arranging of feedback sessions, as well as analysing of the improvement.
