Abstract
This paper summarises recent results of active vibration
control research done at VTT [Hakala et al. 1994, Linjama
1995]. The emphasis is on "add-on dampers", inertial
actuators which can be attached to a structure. Actuators
use local feedback control to create damping forces to
the structure to which they are attached. Electrodynamic
shakers and servohydraulic shakers are used as actuators.
