    Abstract

The development of a process automation concept is very tightly integrated to the development of the related process concept. The controls cannot change the laws of nature; hence a lot of the dynamic behaviour of the plant is determined by the process concept. The understanding of the plant dynamics is a key already in the concept phase and dynamic simulation is practically taken mandatory. To enable the iterative simulation-assisted process automation concept development, validation and verification, Alstom initiated a project for the two-way automatic translation of CAE models and process simulation models. The system was named FupRos.
