Abstract
Liquid biofuels have several advantages over solid or
gaseous fuels. Pyrolysis liquids produced from wood fuels
have been estimated low cost, but their fuel quality
needs improvement. The aim is to use pyrolysis liquid to
replace light fuel oil in boilers. Forestry residues and
sawdust are estimated as feasible biomass feedstocks for
liquid fuel production. Production of pyrolysis liquid
from these biofuels is described and liquid fuel
properties are discussed.
