Fast resistive attenuators for high accuracy measurements of LI voltages

Abstract

Design, construction and calibration of compact, inexpensive and fast resistive attenuators for lightning impulse or surge voltage measurements up to 1.5 kV is presented. Estimated uncertainty of attenuator ratio is less than 100 ppm (k=2). The input resistance of attenuators is 50 Ω ±1 % and the rise-time is less than 1 ns. The calibration procedure of the attenuators is described.
