Abstract

Fatigue testing of longitudinal non-load carrying fillet welds manufactured from both hot rolled and 21.1% cold rolled Polarit 725 stainless steel was performed. The cyclic fatigue loading was constant amplitude with R = sigmamin /sigmamax = 0. Test results show that for this material and geometry the design curves specified by SFS 2378 gave a good estimate of fatigue life.
