Fatigue-strength data on fibre-reinforced plastics

Abstract

The fatigue strength data on various fibre reinforced plastic laminates has been collected from the literature. The data on glass , aramid , carbon and graphite reinforced thermoset resin laminates is included in the report. The fatigue strength data is presented using normalised, semi logarithmical S N curves (relative stress amplitude versus the logarithm of the number of cycles to failure). The report is intended for designers, serving as a tool in the selection of materials and design. The differences in fatigue strength between the laminates are discussed.
