title = "Fault simulation for hydraulic cylinder drive",
abstract = "Computer based simulation is being used more and more in the design phase of machinery. The same computer model can be used to design appropriate means for machine condition monitoring. Information on the modeled faults will help to find useful methods for classifying and describing different faults. Sometimes simulation can be the only feasible approach, since certain faults have low probability for occurence or testing is impossible in real-world pilots. This report discusses faults in electrical signal, control valve jamming, and leaks in feedback-valve-controlled hydraulic cylinder. Faults are examinated in terms of position, pressure, and flow effects during the different work phases of the cylinder.",
