    Abstract

Traffic and traveller information services on digital television will be implemented as a MHP service. The pilot will offer various interactive traffic information services from time schedules of public transport to update information on road weather conditions and traffic situations or road works on public roads. The preliminary contents of the pilot (Information Channel for Transport and Travelling) includes information on (a) current warnings, (b) public transport, (c) private transport, (d) weather and road conditions, (e) travelling, (f) current topics of traffic safety and regulations. A dictionary of new telematic services and devices will also be developed to enhance user awareness of the ITS. Both the content and the user interface will be developed further. The service will also be modified for use with mobile devices. The pilot will be taken into use during April 2004.
