Abstract
Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) is a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelof fire-driven fluid flow. The nist-equations described in this document are a form of the Navier-Stokes nist-equations appropriate for low-speed, thermally-driven flow with an emphasis on smoke and heat transport from fires. The description of the software used to solve these nist-equations is contained in a companion document, calledFire Dynamics Simulator (Version 2) -- User's Guide (NISTIR 6784).
