    Abstract

Pyrolysis research at VTT includes activities from fuel production to its utilisa-tion and involves various analytical work: · Quality follow-up of the liquids from PDU (20 kg/h), 1 kg/h, and 100 g/h units at VTT, and from Union Fenosa (150 kg/h) and ENEL (650 kg/h) within EU-JOULE Project · Quality of upgraded liquids (hot-filtration, solvent addition, catalytic, micro-emulsions) · Testing of standard fuel oil analyses and development of new methods · Sampling, storage, and specifications Pyrolysis work at Neste focuses on combustion characteristics and fuel im-provements.
