Abstract
In this paper the physico-chemical modelling of an industrial pH-process is achieved by taking account of not only the concentrations, but also the activities of the species present. A modification of the self-organising fuzzy controller (SOC) is developed, that combines both the nonlinear input-output mapping and the learning capability. The performances of the SOC and a fixed PID-controller are compared, using a simulator and with an industrial ammonia scrubber under different conditions.
