Abstract
The proceedings consists of lectures held at the "Helsinki International
Summer School on Optoelectronics", June 13 - 16, 1984.The school concentrates
on recent developments in the field of optoelectronics (photonics) including
modern aspects and new directions of research and technology of optical
fibers/fiber sensors, integrated optics, techniques for photonics and solar
cells.The course consists of twenty hours of lectures given by six different
experts from Europe, the USA and Japan.
