High performance for filters without multipliers for ECG signal processing

Abstract

A novel technique is presented for designing efficient linear phase FIR filters to eliminate low frequency noise and line frequency interference from ECG signals. These filters are constructed by interconnecting computationally efficient subfilters with the aid of a few adders and multipliers being powers of two. The design of a linear phase antialiasing filter as a cascade of a modified Bessel filter and a linear phase FIR decimator is discussed.
