How information technology supports intermodal supply chains

    Abstract

    The main scope of the paper is intermodal transport and its relation to supply chains keeping information technology (IT) as the main focus. The paper describes how IT affects intermodal transport together with other supply chain challenges and trends. The aim of this paper is to find out how these issues are seen in intermodal transportation and how they interact between each others. The paper will also present some intermodal transport cases in order to discover means for successful implementation of intermodal solutions.
