    Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to deepen understanding of innovation practices in the co-creation of sustainable solutions within manufacturing networks. Based on action research within one manufacturing network, we explore how network mapping, business model archetypes and LCC tools can be utilised in order to co-create a sustainable solution. The paper contributes to the current understanding about innovation practices in the co-creation of sustainable solutions within a practical case study, describing the joint learning process between company representatives and researchers. The tested tools as well as the joint innovation process enabled the actors to understand better the consequences of their choices and actions on the social, economic and environmental systems they are part of.
