Högskoleverket invited me to participate in an interdisciplinary group of experts. The task of this group was to review the basic education and postgraduate schooling in work science at the Swedish universities. This evaluation was meant to complete earlier evaluations in which work science had already been covered. I understood my primary role in the evaluation group to act as a representative of work and organisation psychology and human-technology interaction research. I could also be helpful by viewing the Swedish situation from the Finnish perspective. Thirdly, I could bring added value by representing applied research in human factors having a long research experience at the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT). This short commentary reflects all these three roles and highlights, and the points that I found significant in reviewing the academic activity in work science. My points are woven into the frame of reference that the evaluation group used in its work. I also feel confident and happy with evaluations resulting from our joint work. I shall conclude by points that characterise the Swedish situation when viewed from the Finnish eyes.
