Implementation of a design repository based on PSSP ontology

Abstract

Today large engineering projects, such as plant design projects, are implemented using concurrent design methodologies. Knowledge sharing within a project organisation is a key element for successful project execution. What we need is a common language to represent knowledge so that it can be shared between designers using different software and performing different design tasks. This paper describes a prototype implementation of a web based tool using PSSP language, a language for managing design knowledge.
