Abstract

Submission is about two-year public funded project in the smart buildings context, where group of companies aimed from digital platform based innovation ecosystem towards the business ecosystem. Innovation ecosystem formulated the vision statement, which gave directions for the first innovation actions and was agreed by all core members of the ecosystem. The digital experimentation platform facilitated innovation activities and the ecosystem engagement practices opened collaboration with the new potential partners. Findings highlights the importance of visionary leadership orchestrating transition towards the business ecosystem. Findings indicates tensions between a budding shared culture and different organizational innovation cultures of the core ecosystem members, and how their daily businesses can relate to ecosystem business development.
