Abstract

The influence of a magnetic field upon magnetostriction and magnetomechanical coupling (k) was measured in new Fe73.5Cu1Ta3Si15.5B7 strips annealed in vacuum for 1 h from 400°C to 600°C. The maximum values of k (=0.5) were observed. After annealing at 550°C the magnetostriction dropped from 24×10−6 to 0. After annealing at 500°C and above a nanocrystalline structure was observed.
