Abstract

Increasing life expectancy accompanied with decreasing dependency ratio in developed countries calls for new solutions to support independent living of the elderly. IST Vivago® is a novel intelligent social alarm system also providing continuous remote monitoring of the user's activity level. The system is based on wireless sensing technology, telecommunications, and intelligent signal processing. In this paper we describe the system and provide application examples of the system.
