Knowledge based alarm management and analysis in intensive monitoring

Abstract

A project is described for building a knowledge-based alarm management and analysis system, called InCare, for patient monitoring in an intensive or a coronary care unit. InCare is a blackboard-oriented system intended for performing comparative inferencing with the physiological signals available in the patient monitors. It analyzes both disturbances in a patient's physiology and technical problems of the monitoring system.
