N2 - The aim is to survey problems related to receiving,
handling and feed systems of heating plants and
small-scale power plants, to develop equipment components
and whole systems in such a way that the availability of
small stations is improved and the stations will be able
to increase the use of wood fuels of different qualities
and types.
As results, an analysis of problems related to the use of
wood fuels, data on the operability of handling equipment
based on follow-up studies, and measuring data on the
operation of handling equipment will be obtained, and
alternatives for improving the operation of handling
equipment for wood fuels will be presented.
Survey and research results as well as experiences from
well-operating equipment can be utilised in the design
and construction of new biomass-fired heating plants and
also applied at presently operating stations. As soon as
the problems related to the use of forest residue chips
and other wood fuels are identified and solved when
designing equipment, the use can be increased.
