Abstract

Roll-to-roll manufacturing has been demonstrated to be an efficient production method for several electronics components (etc. antennas, sensors, displays). For smart system production often silicon based microelectronics is needed for more complex functions, like communication. Design and production of these systems especially for large area sensing is here considered. Special attention must be paid to system design and integration of manufacturing processes to exploit the benefits of the new high volume production techniques.
