    Abstract

Cleavage fracture is controlled by a number of different metallurgical variables. In this work the relative effect of these variables have been considered in the frames of a statistical model. As a result the dominant metallurgical factors affecting cleavage fracture are identified. Different possibilities to influence the variables are shortly discussed.
