Abstract

The invention increases mobile broadcast reliability by providing effective error concealment and support for instantaneous inter-network hand over. In the invention at least two versions of same content are broadcasted: Full quality version (3) and low quality version (2). Low quality version is transmitted first, while full quality is slightly delayed. In receiver, low quality is stored into a buffer (8) and full quality played back (9) to the user. When there is a disturbance in broadcast reception (5), playback switches to low quality version read from the buffer (8). If the disturbance in broadcast reception continues, a mobile phone network data connection (7) may be established for receiving the content from there.
