    Abstract

A CRP-POD propulsion system concept is explained and the challenges related to testing at model scale are presented. A fixed power ratio of both engines has been determined and the rpm of the forward propeller is adjusted during the self propulsion test for the ship navigation condition. The paper describes the test to be carried out at CEHIPAR and the device arrangement necessary to test the unit in a towing tank and in a cavitation tunnel. An extrapolation method has been developed and it is presented.
