    Abstract

This paper will present a 800 mA, 10-16 V motor driver and control circuit for an intelligent ABLOY electronic lock. The requirements for the application and the design concepts of the circuit will be reviewed. At the first phase the design is a two- chip solution, with the motor driver, regulators and analog controls on one power IC chip and the control logic on a second gate array or microprocessor chip. On the second phase of the design the driver and the analog and logic controls will be integrated to an one-chip solution. The circuit is realized with an advanced 3 μm two metal layer polysilicon gate BIMOS technology.
