    Abstract

The book addresses the context and experience surrounding the widespread development of technological tools and ICT platforms to support the emergence of Intelligent Transport systems. Section 2.4 explores the technical specifications and technologies for multimodal travel and traffic information services (TTIS). TTIS address fundamental needs of the individual travelers by providing better information about available travel options, while also providing effective means for traffic and transport authorities to pursue global objectives such as improved safety, overall transport efficiency and decreased environmental impacts.
