Abstract

This paper presents a framework for creating computational maps with a native user interaction experience, using only open-source simple building blocks. It highlights the challenges in applied map data analysis and proposes simple solutions to them. The paper finishes with a vision of the future of computational maps, made possible by advances in mobile device processing capabilities. The authors hope that the researchers starting their work in geographical map data analysis will find useful information here.
