    Abstract

A network analyzing and monitoring tool can be placed into the IMS to survey the protocol communication of SIP, SDP, UDP, RTP and RTCP. Once a connection between the endpoints of communication is formed, the network analyzing and monitoring tool can monitor the network protocol communication traffic. The research problem of the paper is to discriminate the feasible placements of network analyzing and monitoring tool to survey the protocol communication in IMS. The research is based on the constructive method of the related publications and technologies and the results are derived by the abstractive analysis of the available material. The placement of the tool can be either at 1) the endpoints or 2) the common point(s) of the endpoints communication path.
