Abstract
An instrumental approach to design energy efficient
buildings within the context of neighbourhood is
presented. In the EU project Design4Energy (D4E) a
scenario driven approach was used to define the
activities that should take place at an early design
stage, as well as the actors involved and the tools
required to support such activities.
Six KPIs and a tool were defined to be used in early
design phase to support communication between design team
and client. In addition, energy matching was analysed
with specific indicators. This paper discusses the
methodological approaches, demonstrates how communication
between design team and the client can be facilitated
using KPIs in different phases and presents specifically
how relevant indicators help to achieve possibly high
level of sustainability and energy efficiency in the
neighbourhood.
