    Abstract

The Swedish nuclear utilities Forsmark Kraftgrupp and Ringhals AB and the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority are financing together with the Finnish Nuclear Safety Research Programme SAFIR2018 a project, called SITRON (site risk of nuclear installations). The objective with SITRON is to develop methods and requirements for a nuclear power plant site risk analysis, driven by a performance of two pilot studies: one regarding the units 1 and 2 at Forsmark nuclear power plant site and the other one regarding units 3 and 4 at the Ringhals nuclear power plant site. This paper provides a summary of the SITRON project and discusses the development of risk metrics for the site risk analysis purposes. Risk metrics have been defined both for Level 1 and 2 PSA and use of them have been tested in pilot studies.
