Abstract
In this paper a simulation model for a fuel cell hybrid electric bus is set based on the dynamometer tests carried out to a battery electric bus and the characterization tests of a fuel cell. The simulation model is developed and implemented in the Smart eFleet energy-flow analysis tool developed by VTT. Once the model is implemented, the simulation tool is used to develop a TCO analysis focused on the comparison of 4 energy management strategies. The simulations are developed in 4 routes of diverse characteristics (including urban and non-urban scenarios), what allows deriving which is the cost-optimal strategy for each case.
