Abstract

In this paper practical aspects of implementing a self-organizing fuzzy controller (SOC) on an industrial application are discussed. Ease of operation as well as safety and reliability are key issues in industrial control and emphasis is concentrated on there features. The particular application in question was pH control of an ammonia scrubber in a fertilizer plant and specific features and problems of this process are studied in more detail.
