    Abstract

Gasification of coal, peat and wood waste has been studied in the PDU-scale pressurised fluidised-bed gasification test facilities of VTT since 1988. The main aim of the research has been to support the development of simplified integrated gasification combined-cycle processes by providing new information on the gasification behaviour of these feedstocks and on the formation and removal of different gas impurities. This report is the second part of the final report on the biomass, peat and coal gasification test programme carried out in 1991 - 1994. It includes gasification data on three different hard coals and a summary of the hot gas filtration experiments carried out in peat and coal gasification trials. The test facility, the sampling and analytical methods applied, and the summary of sawdust gasification results were presented in the first part of the report (VTT Publication 161).
