Pressurized fluidized bed combustion and gasification power systems

The Seminar on Pressurized Fluidized Bed Combustion and Gasification Power Systems was held in Espoo, Finland, on 23 - 24 November, 1987.The topics of the Seminar were related to a joint research project between the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT), the Helsinki University of Technology, and Imatran Voima Oy.The objective was to take a general review of the state-of-the-art of combined cycle power plant processes based on pressurized combustion and gasification.Foreign specialists had been invited to lecture at the Seminar.Research done in Finland was also introduced.The lectures given on the first day focused on potentials offered by pressurized combustion technology in Finland, and on research and development in the field of pressurized fluidized bed combustion.A visit was also organized to see the test rig constructed for research into pressurized fluidized bed combustion and gasification at the Laboratory of Fuel Processing of VTT.The lectures on the second day concerned gasification technology and gas cleanup from particulates and alkali metals.
