In this report is summarized the work performed in CHEMPC
project. The aim in the project was to study the
transport and chemistry of fission products in primary
circuit and in containment during a hypothetical severe
accident. The fission product chemistry in primary
circuit was experimentally studied at VTT and at IRSN.
The reactions on surfaces were also investigated.
Experimental studies on fission product transport in SGTR
sequences were conducted in international ARTIST and
ARTIST-2 programs at PSI. The radiolytical oxidation of
iodine in containment conditions was studied in
co-operation with Chalmers University of Technology.
Experiments were conducted both at VTT and at Chalmers.
Based on previous experiments, modelling studies on the
behaviour of ruthenium oxides in air-ingress accident
were conducted. As a part of international co-operation,
CHEMPC project included also follow-up of Phebus FP and
ISTP programs as well as ISTC program project EVAN.

Nuclear Power Plant Safety 2007-2010 (SAFIR 2010), VTT,
Nordic Nuclear Safety Research (NKS), Institut de
Radioprotection et de Sûreté Nucléaire (IRSN) and Fortum
