Abstract

Relationships between properties of handsheets from six softwood kraft pulps were studied. Properties were found to exhibit considerable scatter, but it was considered likely that simple classification of the raw materials would enable selection of a suitable combination of kraft pulps for a particular product. Young thinnings, older thinnings and slabwood from both Scots pine and Norway spruce were used
