    Abstract

The goal of the project is to decrease the chipping costs and to improve forest chip quality by develop technology. First we are looking for sources of error in the comparing study of the chipper knives sharpness. The tests proved that it s possible to use comparing study in developing great progress. To prove small differences require large amount of tests. Later we develop more economical knives and build an experimental drumchipper to measure cutting forces, to study feeding and to develop construction of drum.
